Fall weekend, part 2

Today I went tromping around in the woods in two different places. I'll blog about the second place in a separate post. My town is filled with abandoned mills. I find them fascinating. While running last fall I found a little parking area and a sign indicating there was some sort of trail. I was too wigged out to check it out on my own at the crack of light - the trail starts behind on of the mills - so I vowed to return. I thought that the trail was four miles long but it turns out it was only a half mile. It winds right by this old mill and its old piping and has signs along the way explaining how the paper mill worked and this history of it. I didn't exactly "hike" because it was so pretty and so interesting that I had to keep stopping to take pictures and read about what I was seeing along the way. It was such a treat and the kind of trail I'd like to re-visit during different times of the year.

I'll post about my other fall hike tomorrow - I'm going to be late for my yoga carpool!
