It’s Halloween Eve!
Halloween is my favorite holiday! I love dressing up and pretending to be someone else, even if just for one night. I wanted to wright a blog entry to commemorate this special date and I debated long and hard about either writing about my favorite candy(s) or favorite Halloween costumes from my youth. I can write about candy anytime. It’s really only appropriate once a year to brag about my favorite Halloween costumes!
Bunny, age 5 (?). I was the cutest bunny ever and this will always be my favorite costume ever! I wore a light pink sleeper (for you non-New Englanders, a sleeper is a fuzzy warm one piece pajamas with feet that you wear when it gets below zero – i.e. daily) and my mom sewed a matching light pink bunny head with ears. Oh, and I had a fluffy tail :) She made the mistake of making the costume early that year and I refused to take it off for the weeks leading up to and after Halloween.
Mrs. Mia Wallace, age 21. My college roommate and I threw a Halloween Party. I believe x dressed as fire or a devil or something all red. I went as Mrs. Mia Wallace – aka Uma Thurman from Pulp Fiction. Black jeans, black bra, which button down shirt, black nail polish and a black wig. It was a very functional and a very popular costume though our guests kept asking when I was going to have adrenaline shot into my heart.
Fairy Princess, age 9 (?). There is a picture of my brother and me on this Halloween. I am wearing a white princess outfit (white turtleneck, white tulle skirt, silver-painted cardboard crown and wand) and my brother is wearing the fake fur vest of my dad’s and is Genghis Khan (?). Quite a contrast. This wasn’t necessarily a favorite costume but I like the picture of the two of us.
Lollipop, age 10 (?). I wore all white and my mom made a large orange head out of poster board. Everyone thought I was a carrot. Carrots are green and orange, not white and orange!
Gypsy, age 11 (?). I raided my mom’s hippy clothes. ‘Nuff said.
I don’t remember many other costumes. Let’s face it – everything pales against the bunny and Mrs. Mia Wallace!
Was I at that party? What house was it at? If I wasn' why not? How can I forgive you? You were at my big halloween party I think.
