Springtime is the most wonderful time for being in love. The good news is Spring is almost year . . . and I am in love! With my city Boston!!! :-)
I feel like we've turned a weather corner and are on a heating up stretch, rather than a cooling down and freezing stretch. By all accounts we've been very lucky this winter and it's been really mild. None of that a-foot-of-snow-every-week-for-12-weeks-business. My new home is in a much better climate zone where it's both warmer and we get less snow. Today it was about 40 and fairly windy. I guess I've become a New Englander now that I think that 40 is a beautiful warm day! I had a few errands to do and thought I'd do them in town and take some pics. I don't actually think I've posted many pictures of Boston or Cambridge. I love both cities equally. They are simultaneously familiar and mysterious. It's good to be so close once again.
To get from my house to Boston I walk a mile, then take a bus a few miles and then hop on the subway. It's easier and closer than it sounds and makes for some great people watching. This is the view from the subway as we cross the Charles River from Cambridge into Boston. I love this view.

I love walking through Boston Common and Boston Garden. It's sort of our (much smaller) version of Central Park. When it's warmer and more green I'd like to document some of the history there.

I couldn't resist one shot of George Washington that sits right at the entrance to Boston Garden! You don't see clear blue skies like these in SoCal that often!

The Citgo Sign. I think this is probably one of the most recognizable symbols of Boston. It lights up at night and when I'd visit while living elsewhere it was the one thing that always seemed like "home."

View of the Prudential Building while crossing the Charles River on a different bridge. It might have felt warmer today but it's still cold - the river is still partially frozen over. While I was running this morning I did see my first sighting of rowers on the part of the river that's closer to me. I also saw a lot of runners in shorts this afternoon. My internal temperature gauge is completely broken so until it's in the 80s on a regular basis I am not wearing my running shorts! I did go without my face mask and wore only one pair of pants on this morning's run :-)

The last two shots are of some cool graffetti I saw in an alley in Cambridge. There was a multi-colored plexiglass cover over the alley which played with the light and made the paint colors just pop.

'Tis wonderful to be in love!
Your city deserves to be the object of your affectons and admiration. Hopefully, Bry and I (& Jasper!) might be trying to plan a trip there this summer-ish...!
