my new neighborhood

Top 10 reasons why I like my new 'hood:

10. A little over a mile from my house there is a track where I can run barefoot!**

9. I am about a mile from running by a lovely river bike path (my goal this summer is to walk the entire 17 mile path. For fun!).**

8. I've seen other runners every single time I've gone for a run. In order to run before work on Thursdays I have to get up at an ungodly hour but even so, I've seen other runners.**

7. There is a yoga studio around the corner from my place. It's the "hot" kind. I'm conserving cash like nobody's business right now so I haven't been yet. In another month or so when things settle financially I am totally trying it!

6. I live a mile between two reliable bus routes that can get me into The City and beyond.

5. Within a mile of my place I can walk to a grocery store, a movie theater, a bike shop, quite a few restaurants, banks, bars, post offices, a library, and a couple of parks.

4. There are no prostitutes or other weirdos screaming at the top of their lungs outside my window. I am still getting used to the quiet while I sleep.

3. On Sunday mornings when I go for a walk to get the newspaper there are tons of people out - walkers, runners, couples pushing baby strollers, people walking their dogs. My neighborhood is alive!

2. I am so close to so many cool places and funky neighborhoods. If I go out at night I won't have to drive an hour back home afterward!

1. The weather is significantly warmer where I live now! It's about 10 degrees colder when I get to work and they still have a ton of snow while I have none!

(** I swear I did not buy my place because of it's running awesomeness :-) !)
