This is one of the rooms whose floor needs to be finished. It's a tiny room but very well lit. I still have no idea how I'm going to use it. My apartment is huge! The perspective on this picture is a little off - you can't tell how narrow and short this door frame is. I have to duck to get in and I can barely squeeze through the door with my bike.

My new place, sort of post-construction
I finished working on my apartment two weeks ago and have sort of unpacked. It's taken a while for me to post the pictures here because I've been hoping the floors in the last two rooms would be refinished so I could provide the entire virtual tour. Wishful thinking!

This is the second room that needs to be re-finished. I am going to use it as my living room. My landlord promised me that he's going to block off the Styrofoam storage unit (ie the old air conditioning unit area). I love the built in shelves!! Even though the floor is two-toned I think it's going to be pretty cool and funky when it's finished. That's the scary heating unit on the left and yes, that's my bike in the foreground.
This is the room I am currently using as my living room. I don't want to completely unpack everything only to have to move it into the other room so it's a mess and it's driving me nuts! I love the windows in my apartment - the wood is really nice. This is the first apartment I've ever lived in that has had windows on all four sides!
My pantry. It's right under the eaves so I've got to be careful not to bump my head when I go in. It's huge - holds all my dishes, food, paper goods, cases of water, cleaning devices and recycling. And I have a huge counter-like area (eaves are too low to really use it) to keep tidy and clean.
My fridge is actually at the top of the stairs leading into my apartment. This is kind of normal for me as my parents have the same sort of set up (or used to until they knocked down a wall and merged a couple of rooms. The door on the right leads to the kitchen and the door on the left leads to what will be my living room when the floor gets re-finished. The hallway is a perfect place for my running shoes - I'm always ready for a run!!
Behold! My blue kitchen!! I love the way the color came out. The eaves makes it hard to hang things so I am still working on the decor. The chair in the corner came from Harvard University. In summer after they clean out the dorms and offices, etc they offer all the furniture and things up for free. My dad and I went and I only managed to get this chair - everyone else grabbed the rest. I will use it at my sewing table once I can set that up.
I've lost count how many times I've banged my head while working at the counter! It's my only counter space so I've either got to get used to it or start holding my head at a slant!
My bedroom. My first bed that's not just a mattress on the floor in over 10 years!!! I am still adjusting! Again, the eaves makes it hard to hang pictures. I love the little corner areas - the bed is the only furniture I have in the bedroom so it's nice not to have to put everything on the floor. ALL of my clothes are organized into boxes - I'm still working on getting a dresser.
My landlord is still working on getting prices for the floors but he hopes to have them done next month. He has the same situation in his apartment but over a much larger area and his floors area really bizarre (there is a huge random patch of plywood in the middle of the hardwood in his front room). He keeps telling me "I can't live like this" so I'm hoping in another month or so I'll be able to post pictures of my completed living room. In the meantime, I am hoping these pictures will inspire my friends and family to come visit!!
